Lancashire Youth Solutions
This is a social consultancy service led by young people. It is designed to promote and encourage a range of positive personal and career development skills including:
- social entrepreneurialism
- emotional resilience
The Lancashire Youth Solutions programme operates at two levels: primary and secondary.
The programme is designed to foster personal qualities and skills as young people progress through mandatory education, thus increasing their chances of making a positive contribution to society when they come to make their life and career choices as young adults.
CVCL students are trained to mentor and empower the young people they work with to develop, deliver and steer projects within their communities. The young people involved subsequently act as advisers to their peers.
Lancashire Youth Solutions has made a positive impact in the local schools initially targeted:
- Burnley UTC
- Longridge High School
- Christ the King Catholic Maths and Computing College
- St Bede’s Blackburn
- Marsden Heights Community College
- Deepdale Infant and Junior Schools
- Preston Muslim Girls’ High School
