UCLan’s Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL) is led by Dr Alethea Melling, MBE. The CVCL team has gained a world-class reputation for designing and delivering courses, community cohesion projects and action-led research.

Kathryn Huskisson- known as Kat- is a Volunteer Support Assistant for the Centre of Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL).

Robert Walley
Robert Walley- known as Bob- is a Community Leadership and Positive Environments Lecturer in the School of Social Work, Care and Community.

Paul Wilkinson
Paul is a Researcher at the Burnley campus for the School of Social Work, Care and Community. He works on projects with community stakeholders and families in developing interventions that challenge commonly perceived views of higher education.

Dr Alethea Melling, MBE
Alethea Melling is the Director of the Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL) and has spent more than 30 years working with young people and local communities.

Ridwanah Gurjee
Ridwanah (Riz) is the MA Programme Course Leader and a lecturer in Community Leadership and CPD portfolio of ILM Qualifications. She co-ordinates UCLan's volunteering programme whilst developing CVCL's undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Wajid is currently on a Secondment from the University to take up the role as a Member of the European Parliament for the North West of England.

Yasmeen-known as Yas- is a lecturer in Community Leadership and a project worker with a particular interest in youth and gang culture.

Jenny is a Senior lecturer in Community Leadership, specialising in Peer Led Education. She co-ordinates a number of projects including Touch and Ambassadors for the Future.
