University Certificate of Achievement in Citizenship and Cohesive Communities Level 4
This programme is aimed at anyone working with community groups or volunteers, or who has responsibility for delivering volunteer programmes such as Scouts, Brownies, junior football, youth clubs and so on.
Students will learn about the following:
- Citizenship and community cohesion: what do we mean by these concepts?
- We will look at issues such as equality and diversity.
- What is cohesion aimed at? All the issues it tries to tackle: social inclusion, extreme views on cohesion, stereotyping, foreign policies, impact on local people, culture difference.
- Looking at different perspectives from different races, identity and segregation, civic leadership in terms of people represented, policing, neighbourhood renewal, regeneration, networking, partnership formation– the effects of these concepts and profiles in terms of cohesion.
