UCLan Volunteering Awards 2017
Coming up to that time of the year where the Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL) at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) will be recognising the vital role played by UCLan students and young people around Lancashire. The awards ceremony will be held at UCLan 53° venue on the 24th of May.
There are many categories honouring UCLan students and people who have given up their time to make a difference in other people’s lives across the university and Lancashire wide. Categories for which students and young people were nominated included: Community Legends Award, Community Heroes Award, Community Team of the Year, Volunteering Lancashire Young Volunteer of the Year, the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Volunteering and the very special Joe Medforth Challenge Award, in memory of a Preston student killed in the city in 2006.
The celebration event brings together organisations and community groups from across Lancashire who work with UCLan to promote student-led social action. These include Lancashire County Council, Myerscough College, local schools and young people, external volunteers from the community and their friends and family members.
