Rebecca Steel, BA (Hons), NCTJ PGDip, PGDip Voluntary Sector Management, joined the Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL) in 2011.
Becky has a strong focus on supporting the development of projects, events, volunteering and social enterprise activity across UCLan and the community, assisting partner organisations and volunteers to find placements and development opportunities to increase their breadth of experience and skills.
Becky coordinates the day-to-day running of the Centre alongside many projects and events. She has a strong focus on developing links and transferring knowledge with grassroots organisations. As part of this work Becky focusses on engaging the community in the work of the Centre particularly think tank seminars, networks and conferences held by CVCL.
Becky’s background is in Business Development, Marketing, PR and the voluntary sector. She brings a range of experience working in both the private and public sectors.
Prior to joining the Centre, Becky spent a number of years in the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector with a pan-Lancashire focus on developing consortiums and collaborative working arrangements which have now led to the development of active consortia supporting sustainable community development. Becky represents the Centre at many forums and networks including Volunteering Lancashire and ONE Lancashire.
Becky is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and is currently working towards her Doctorate in Education.
