Dr Mahmood Chandia
Dr Mahmood Chandia has attended a diverse range of institutions and was awarded an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Manchester.
At Manchester he also successfully completed a Doctoral research programme and was awarded a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies. Mahmood is also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Mahmood joined UCLan in 2001 and is Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in Islamic Studies at UCLAN and contributes to a wide range of other courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including Religion, Culture and Society; Volunteering and Community Leadership; International Relations and Interfaith Studies. His research interests include: Islamic Manuscripts, Islamic Jurisprudence and Thought, Muslims in Britain, Muslim Studies, Community Studies, Interfaith Studies, the Middle East, Islamic Philosophy and Mental Health Well-being and Islamic Finance.
